Abstract: DCC Railcom decoder development board

Specs

I’ve developed this PCB to streamline the initial stages of decoder development. The P26 provides all the essential functions for a motor decoder to connect to a DCC track signal. It includes

  • VDD power
  • level conversion
  • Railcom sender
  • motor driver
  • inrush limiter

This board is designed to be compatible with most microcontroller. So far I have been using successfully the Microchip AVR and ATTiny line.

The PCB may have header pins soldered for easy placement on breadboards. High and low voltage signals are kept on opposite sides of the PCB for protection.
